This generations of Chevy photo, the '28 Deluxe sedan, the '53 3100 pickup and '59 'Vette composed itself in front of me.
In this photo one can appreciate why Harley Earl's design studio was called GM Art and Colour Division. The '28 Deluxe seen here reflects DuPont’s early 20s development of fast drying Nitrocellulose lacquer.
This advanced color palette was exactly what Alfred Sloane wanted to build GM’s reputation on.
