As collectors of our limited edition art books know, each book is custom made.
It all starts with the galley. Each title page is specially prepared with the name of the collector for whom it is being produced. It is then dated and numbered. An example of the new edition’s title page is at right. Then the digital printing plates are made.
All of our custom limited editions are produced as the finest quality art books. What does this mean? First of all they are produced one at a time in the tradition of the small press publisher. While this accurately implies a very 19th Century method of print process, we have also been at the forefront of advanced press method for decades. During Covid we took the time to re-evaluate current print process. As a result we developed a new method for print reproduction that has moved the quality of our art and photographic imagery from fine traditional 4 color press work to photo enlargement quality. Rather than boring you with detail, save to say, the photographs look like Agfa enlargements out of the darkroom. The illustrations look like original art. It took over a year of testing, from pre-galley image formulation to on-press work.
As implied above each edition of Observations on Ferrari 1946 - 1966 - The King’s Eyes - is produced on its own individual press run. The printed galley signatures are then Smyth sewn, in a special manner so that each two page spread moves forward to present itself to the reader. This unusual binding method also allows your edition to lay perfectly flat. Each edition is then hand bound in the finest leather. For this edition it is a superb quality 1.52 oz Plonge garment grade red leather from our long time source in Napa.

Each edition is packaged for shipment in custom 200lb test literature boxes, and shipped USPS Priority Mail. Continental US shipment takes about three days and International four to five depending on customs delays. We only charge $20 for US shipping, and $50 international, well below packaging and shipping cost.
