How does a provenance become a detective story?  By taking the reader on the journey of discovery. Here we take you along on the eighteen month investigation, to examine every clue as it presents itself, red hearings and all. The editorial basis of every good detective novel is how the plot is dialogue driven. It is through conversations with the characters involved that the real story comes forth, and the mystery is solved…eventually.
And that is exactly what Scott Callan does here in his non-fiction mystery. Every conversation was recorded as it happened. and transcribed exactly, full of humour and insight. Taking you within the story as it unfolds.
There is also a second editorial structure here, in that every conversation was followed up with well filled envelopes packed with personal archive material. Visually documenting all the adventures of the eight racers, who over sixty years, wrote the story that is Metal Memory: the mystery of 0718.
To more fully appreciate the unique editorial perspective of Metal Memory, we have provided four link pages at the right.
The fist is the Table of contents to bring context to the scope of the story.
By way of introduction, there are the first two pages of Chapter One.

To provide context to the editorial structure as mentioned the next two pages are links to complete chapters.
For a bit of humour and scope the first is a full conversation chapter.
The second is a graphic chapter that visually takes you through a 22 year old Gordon Glyer’s race at Sacramento in  1961.

Just select the link page desired and you will move to the larger pages.
