The three carb Healeys came in two flavors, the BT7 and the BN7.
The BT7 was the 2+2, of which 5,096 were produced and sold.
The BN7 was the last of the two seaters. Only 355 were made.
It is said that the triple carb setup was a nod to the FIA ralley rules, which were governed by the number of carbs. So the racing versions could run three dual Weber cabs.
Keeping those three SU carbs synched was quite the trick. For the next model year AH went back to two. Thus the triple cab BT and BN7s were another one year anomaly in the annals of automotive history.
